2003: BBL Falcon Founded

BBL Falcon (DBA Falcon Technologies) was established with a mission to protect the environment by providing polyurea-based secondary containment solutions. The company initially focused on the oil & gas sector, helping prevent environmental contamination through innovative containment systems.

2009: Acquisition by Carbo Ceramics

Falcon Technologies was acquired by Carbo Ceramics, a leader in manufacturing and technology. This acquisition allowed Falcon to leverage Carbo Ceramics’ extensive expertise in manufacturing and product development, helping them refine and scale their containment solutions.

2011: Expansion and Innovation

Falcon Technologies significantly expanded its product offerings, creating and launching a full range of products, including liners and bases for tanks and equipment. The company also pioneered the industry’s first automated, computer-controlled polyurea liner manufacturing process, marking a breakthrough in efficiency and precision for the production of containment systems.

2017: Introduction of the AssetGuard Brand

The name “AssetGuard” was introduced to better represent the company’s broadening range of products and services. While originally focused on oilfield containment solutions, AssetGuard began to diversify into non-oilfield applications, reflecting their growth into other sectors.

2020: Wilks Brothers Acquisition

AssetGuard became a part of the Wilks Brothers’ portfolio when they acquired Carbo Ceramics. This acquisition brought new investment and growth opportunities, further solidifying AssetGuard’s position as a leader in environmental and asset protection across multiple industries.

Rich Thurston

President & CEO

Rich spearheads the company’s mission to provide innovative environmental protection solutions. With a background in engineering and extensive experience in the manufacturing sector, Rich has played a pivotal role in transforming AssetGuard into a leader in products and secondary containment systems. Under his leadership, the company has expanded its product offerings and streamlined production processes, resulting in the successful installation of over 45 million square feet of containment liner across the United States. Known for his strategic vision and commitment to sustainability, Rich is dedicated to advancing AssetGuard’s capabilities and ensuring its long-term growth in both oilfield and non-oilfield markets.

Richard Davis

Vice President of Operations

Richard oversees the company’s field service operations and operational excellence across the company. With a robust background in operations management and a passion for efficiency, Richard has been instrumental in optimizing operational workflows and enhancing service, quality, and delivery. Richard is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring that AssetGuard and Falcon Technologies maintain their collective reputation for excellence in providing polyurea-based secondary containment solutions. His leadership is pivotal in supporting the company’s growth and operational success in both oilfield and non-oilfield sectors.

Nick La Mar

Director of Sales and Marketing

Nick leads AssetGuard’s sales and marketing initiatives with a strong foundation in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) sales and consulting. With a proven track record in the industrial manufacturing and oil and gas sectors, Nick brings deep expertise in environmental compliance, operational efficiency, and client-focused solutions. His background includes guiding organizations through complex regulatory landscapes and delivering strategies that support both sustainability and performance. Known for his consultative approach and results-driven mindset, Nick plays a key role in expanding AssetGuard’s market presence and strengthening customer relationships across both oilfield and non-oilfield industries.
