The Challenge

The Falcon Technologies team was tasked with building a large containment around 4 separate 80,000 barrel tanks in West Virginia. The blueprint called for a shape and size out of our standard. This created a challenge as the wall needed to be rounded unlike our standard build that requires 90 degree angles in the corners.

The Solution

This project required a custom designed 5’ 6” steel wall, conformed them to the curvature of the containment, and added custom posts. Contractors filled the floor with concrete then degreased and pressure washed the walls of the tank to prepare for the installation. The design called for a 16 oz geotextile underlayment prior to the GroundGuard™ liner installation. Concrete pedastals, used as pipe stands, were primed and coated to create a seamless liner. After installation, we provided custom crossover stairs around the containment wall to provide easy access to the containment area.The Results

The Results

With proper prep work and installation, the containment for the 4 large tanks is completely leak proof and able to withstand UV exposure, freezing weather, and punctures.
